About the Role
We're looking for a Content Engineer to help us build defensive training content that caters to over 3 million users. The content you'll be building will be aimed towards individuals aspiring to work in SOC/IR career roles. Responsibilities include:
- Design, write and create defensive cyber security training material with supporting hands-on lab exercises (such as virtual machines or files to investigate)
- Collaborate with the Content Engineering Team to support TryHackMe’s security training coverage and identify content development opportunities
- Analyse industry trends in tooling and techniques and recreate that as teachable content
- Research emerging threats and new techniques used by adversaries
- Use research to provide a source of expertise to the content development team
Skills & Requirements
- Ideally at least 2 years of experience working in the industry in a defensive security related role (e.g. Security Analyst, Incident Responder, Digital Forensic Investigator)
- Experience configuring and using defensive tools (SIEM, EDR, etc.)
- Ability to develop and configure virtual machines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience in any of the following programming languages: Python, PHP, Bash, Powershell or Javascript;
- Experience with Purple Teaming;
- Experience with any of the following: Secure Coding, Cyber Threat Hunting, Threat Emulation, or Penetration Testing;
- Instructional design or training experience (developing and running cyber security training);
