Introduction
At TryHackMe, we encourage knowledge-sharing and aim to provide a space where community members can support each other in their cybersecurity learning journeys. To maintain this focus, we allow the sharing of resources with the intent of helping others learn. However, self-promotion and advertising remain against the rules to prevent commercial exploitation of the community.
Guidelines for Sharing External Resources
Allowed:
- Sharing links to cybersecurity training platforms, courses, or certifications that could help others learn, as long as there is no personal or financial gain involved.
- Discussing and recommending educational resources, including certifications like OSCP or CompTIA, when relevant to the conversation.
Not Allowed:
- Self-promotion, including linking to personal training content, courses, or services for personal gain.
- Advertising paid content, services, or products where the primary intent is to drive transactions rather than support learning.
A good rule of thumb:
- If the link is shared in a discussion to support someone’s learning, it’s allowed.
- If the link is shared primarily for personal gain, it’s not allowed.
