This function is for people who like to build and fix. Who’d rather ship a v1 and improve it fast than wait for perfect. If you want to make things work in a fast-moving company - not just talk about how they should work - keep reading.
TryHackMe is a remote-first, founder-led scale-up with over 4.5 million users globally. We’re growing fast, with a mission to make cybersecurity education accessible to everyone , and we’re doing it with a product that people genuinely love to use. This isn’t a B2B SaaS platform you’ll struggle to explain at dinner. It’s a real platform solving real problems for real people, and that makes the work matter.
Operations is the engine room of TryHackMe - the part of the company that enables us to scale, protect what we’ve built and support every person behind the product.
Operations includes HR, Finance, Legal & Compliance, TA, IT and Internal Ops. Many systems are still v1, and some don’t exist yet - building it is the job. We build lean, fit for purpose structures that can support a globally distributed company growing fast. You’re not walking into a mature function. You’re joining one that’s about 50% written, and you’ll help write the rest.
It’s energising, fast and full of opportunity, but also scrappy and ambiguous. If you need polished playbooks, layers of structure or a 9–5 lifestyle, this won’t be the right fit.
HR, Finance, TA, IT, Ops are the least mature functions at TryHackMe, which means our roadmaps are ambitious and delivery is critical to service the needs of a fast growing company.
You’ll need to be comfortable with ambiguity and even more comfortable resolving it. You’ll write the policy, not just enforce it. You’ll fix the issue, not just flag it. You’ll build workflows that scale, close compliance gaps, and keep us moving without introducing unnecessary complexity, and without the red tape you’d find in a more traditional company.
This isn’t a slow-moving back-office function. Operations is deeply integrated with leadership and company direction. The decisions made in this team carry financial, legal and people consequences.
This isn’t a function for box-tickers, coasters or people waiting to be told what to do. To thrive here, you need to be:
